LONDON ONTARIO – Vancouver Whitecaps Academy Centre Director and Associate Head Coach – Marinos Papageorgopoulos, was in London this past weekend to visit the South-Western Ontario Academy Centre. Through the Whitecaps long term commitment to London, Marinos had an opportunity to meet coaches and run Academy Sessions. He also did a presentation for parents about the Prospects Academy (HPP), Collegiate Opportunities for Players, and a host of exciting news and events on the horizon for our London Players.

Marinos commented

"My visit to our London Youth Academy centre was inspiring. I watched and worked with players and coaches from a variety of age groups and was really impressed with the level of play and coaching. Our local coaches are proud and committed and maintain high standards during sessions. This was also an opportunity for me to reconfirm the Whitecaps commitment to London and our centre here for the long term.  As we continue to grow our Academy centre network across the country, London will be even more important for us a centre to host Whitecaps events on the east coast, meaning more opportunities for local players in London.  We look forward to announcing more of the plans in the months ahead.  The future in London is bright and we are really exited to be here."
