About the London Youth Whitecaps Soccer Club

The London Youth Whitecaps is a not for profit High Performance Soccer Club based in London, Ontario which serves elite level developmental needs of player’s resident in the area under the jurisdiction of the Elgin Middlesex Soccer Association (EMSA). We are the partner Club of the Whitecaps FC Academy Centre – London Youth that is based in London, Ontario and is operated by the Vancouver Whitecaps.

London Youth Whitecaps have teams entered in the OYSL (Provincial), WRSL & Region One (Regional) and EMDSL (District) Leagues. In order to provide a clear, unified, organizational structure for all higher level teams and players, London Youth Whitecaps will operate teams and player pools from the U7-U18 age divisions.

London Youth Whitecaps will also be applying for the Ontario Player Development League (OPDL) in 2017. Media Release

The OPDL is a high-performance, standards-based league that is part of the Ontario Soccer Association’s commitment to adopt Long-Term Player Development principles, and to create an elite environment in regards to training, support, competition, and organization.

“Our goal is to provide the best possible player development model at each of our academy centre locations,” said Whitecaps FC academy centre director Bart Choufour. “In only a year, our London Youth Whitecaps academy has already made tremendous progress. The OPDL aligns with our vision to continue to push players in a challenging environment that will help them progress through the pathway.”

About the Whitecaps FC Academy Centre – London Youth

The Whitecaps London Academy Centre is part of the official Academy Centre network of Major League Soccer (MLS) club Vancouver Whitecaps FC, and is run in partnership with the Elgin Middlesex Soccer Association (EMSA) and the London Youth Whitecaps.

Programs include a training Program for London Youth Whitecaps Boys from U8 to U17 and London Youth Whitecaps Girls U9 to U17.

There is also a HPP (High Potential Player) Academy Program for London and Region Prospects from U10 to U17. This includes Boys Residency Prospects and Girls Elite Rex Prospects. This Program is for Players from any Club in our Region and is by Invitation only.

London Youth Whitecaps and HPP players are provided with opportunities to be scouted into Whitecaps FC full-time professional development programs in Vancouver.

Whitecaps FC Academy Centres are a network of regional training hubs linked through key staff, curriculum, and standards that provide professional supplemental club training for serious, motivated players. Planning and curriculum are overseen by Bart Choufour, director and head coach of Whitecaps FC Academy Centres. With the addition of the London Youth Academy Centre, Whitecaps FC have a network across 18 different cities, including locations in Alberta, Kamloops, the Kootenays, Manitoba, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Northern BC, the Okanagan, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan, Squamish, Vancouver, and Vancouver Island.
